I have a handful of “favorite” waterfalls in the area, one of which is Little Bradley Falls. Most people have never heard of this waterfall, which makes is much more intriguing to me. I find this Polk County cascade one of the most peaceful, calming, and restful areas to visit. Little Bradley Falls is a unique, multi-level falls on Cove Creek near Saluda, NC that boasts a place to swim at the base of the falls.

I’ve only been to Little Bradley once, but am making plans to visit this cascade again. That’s how much I liked it when I was there. Here again, leaving early enough on a weekday is the best time to enjoy waterfalls in Western North Carolina. We didn’t have any problems finding the waterfall but had to share it with other folks upon our arrival. When we reached Little Bradley, there was a Boy Scout Troop practicing at the top of the falls, of course using ropes and other security measures. Once they completed their training, we had the entire place to ourselves, until others appeared.

There’s nothing more relaxing than sitting on a rock, eating lunch after about a mile hike, and listening to water empty into the pool below. But be aware that once you close your eyes to enjoy the soothing sound of water flowing, you can absolutely expect other hikers to intrude upon your serenity. This waterfall may not be as easy to find as Looking Glass Falls, but its popularity on hot summer days is well-known.
